The Modern David

David, although small, defeated the giant Goliath
and freed his people from the fear of destruction
or eternity of slavery.

Africa has long suffered under the pressure of
colonialism. Today freed from formal colonialism,
it strains without control over its rich natural
resources and without the financial resources
to build the needed infrastructure for reaching
self sustainment. Africa depends on American
and European books and products to go on,
but this "going on" remains under the yoke
of Euro-American domination.

Children as soldiers are a sad sight. Children are the Future. Like the small David, the Destiny of a People lies in the hands of its children. The weapon represents struggle. I pray that there is a peaceful solution to the problem, and that Africa will free itself from this giant of Euro-American economic influence.

The Modern David pays homage to the African youth, that they conquer the Goliath of their past domination, and free their people from destruction or an eternity of Slavery.
